Abby Cohen
Abby first started swing dancing back when that infamous Gap ad aired in the late 90’s, but only learned Lindy Hop in 2007. Since then she has never looked back and is now trying to learn the whole spectrum of swing dance (particularly lots of vernacular jazz.) But give her a nice clean swing-out and she’s happy as can be. Abby grew up listening to big band jazz and has been playing jazz trombone since she was 10 years old. Nowadays you can find her occasionally sitting in with some of the area’s big bands such as the Compaq Big Band, Tom Nutile Big Band, and the Beantown Swing Orchestra. But even on a gig, Abby’s still got her dancing shoes on.
