DJ Night with Natalie Eringros and Dang Mai

January 29th, 2016 | Category: dances

Join us for a swing dance with our local Boston DJs!

Natalie Eringros

An avid dancer, Natalie loves playing music that is contagious and makes it hard to sit down. She is proud to be a big part of Boston Swing Central: teaching, inspiring and supporting a wonderful family of dancers. Known for her joyful energy and playfulness, Natalie is always adding to her collection of songs, to inspire creativity, musicality, fun and keep the dance floor hoppin’!

Dang Mai

Dang’s first foray into swing dancing happened in 2011 when he was lured in by a LivingSocial deal for a New School Swing class. Little did he know how many places that deal would take him, how many dancing friends he would make, and how many swing CDs he would end up hoarding as a result. His collection of music – ranging from the original 30s big bands such as Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and Count Basie to modern swing bands like Jonathan Stout, Mint Julep Jazz Band and Gordon Webster – is constantly updated and is guaranteed to keep your feet triple stepping and shuffling well into the late nights.

January 22nd, 2016 | Category: dances

Get ready for an outstanding Friday night dance to kick off Boston Swing Central’s fourth annual Kind of a Big Deal Weekend!

Tonight, experienced bandleader, Michael Gamble leads his hard-swinging band along with celebrated ‘King of Swing’, New York pianist Gordon Webster!

The Rhythm Serenaders is classic small-group swing at its finest. The six piece combo is a hard-swinging dedication to the style and arrangements of the 1930′s and 40′s, paying homage to the small groups of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Lionel Hampton, Roy Eldridge, Illinois Jacquet, and other artists that mastered the small group sound from the dawn of the Swing Era ’til it’s sunset. Bandleader Michael Gamble’s 10+ years of work in every aspect of the global swing dance community informs the band’s repertoire and taste. Phil McGowan & The Easy Winners with guest vocalist Kellian Pletcher

January 08th, 2016 | Category: dances

Phil McGowan & the Easy Winners, BSC favorites, will join us at Extreme Dancesport for another high energy gig! With their New Orleans inspired hot jazz tunes, they will get you out onto the floor all night! The Easy Winners always get the crowd moving when they play for us and and this Friday will be no exception. Digging deep into their catalog of hits from the past, they’ll light fire to tunes like the 1921 Eddie Cantor hit: “Margie” and Louis Armstrong’s “You Rascal You”.

Joining the band is lindy hopper, rabblerouser and Boston’s own troublemaker, Kellian Pletcher. If you haven’t met Kellian before, you should because she wants to dance with you. But not while she’s singing because her feet get caught in the mic wires. Come cheer Kellian and the band on and as always, save a dance for her.

Here they are tearing it up with Boston Swing Central in 2012!

Lesson (included in the price of admission): 8:00pm – 9:00pm
Swing Dancing: 9:00pm – 12:00am
