Boston Swing Central is very excited for one of our most beloved swing dances of the year! This Valentine’s Day themed dance will feature our custom-designed Valentines and dancing Cupids to deliver them. Dress to impress in some red and pink and get ready to send your friends (and secret dance crushes) some Valentines!

We’re excited to host Mariel Gastiarena and the Swing City Argentina House Band – This band represents the biggest swing dance school and jazz club in Latin America, which is known as Swing City (not to be confused with local dance of the same name). Mariel has travelled and taught all around the world, but came to Boston last year to teach, and now she’s back with her full band. The Swing City Argentina House Band where she will be the epicenter of all the action, singing, tap dancing with her band of amazing musicians.

Join us for live music with JonnyG and the Dynamites as they make their BSC debut!

JohnnyG & The Dynamites is a high energy band full of an all star cast of musicians and entertainers. The band has inspiration deeply rooted in jazz, swing, and soul music that’ll get any event up and going to dance the night away. The band is led by John Lindsay, who is a saxophonist, producer, and arranger that has studied music in several different settings, including graduating from Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship in 2024, where he studied Music Production and Audio Engineering. On top of audio engineering work, he plays sax professionally all around New England at many types of events, including dances, weddings, DJ + sax hybrids for clubs, and even stadium shows for the major league rugby team of New England, where he has opened for the bands Crash Test Dummies, Orleans, and Cracker! We’re bringing back a little sliver of the Dirty Water Lindy Exchange.  We haven’t ran a full blown exchange since 2019, and we’re so busy running Friday dances and Roaring Twenties Lawn Party, but we decided to try and be ambitious and bring back this little gem of a dance.  Fingers crossed for some good weather.  If it looks like rain, we will reschedule this….you can get a t-shirt, or help fund this dance which costs around $300 to use this beautiful park (see link below).  Donations are appreciated but not required.  This dance is free and open to the public.

Swingin’ at Piers Park. With one of the best views of downtown, this East Boston park is a hidden jewel. We’ve danced here before and it’s really awesome. Since we’re right on the water, and it is the ocean, it can be a little windy and get a little chilly, so bring a jacket, dress in layers…

Join us at the Roaring Twenties Lawn Party, which will be held at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA.  This event is a highlight of the summer for many, and we look forward to returning this August 3-4! Tickets are on sale now, and each day will include live music, social dancing, dance classes, food trucks and drink vendors, vintage autos, vintage fair, a fashion parade, and a number of special events — please see the website (in link below) specifically dedicated to the event.   This Event is very hard to describe, you need to experience it to realize exactly how amazing and awesome this event is!
