We’re bringing back a little sliver of the Dirty Water Lindy Exchange.  We haven’t ran a full blown exchange since 2019, and we’re so busy running Friday dances and Roaring Twenties Lawn Party, but we decided to try and be ambitious and bring back this little gem of a dance.  Fingers crossed for some good weather.  If it looks like rain, we will reschedule this….you can get a t-shirt, or help fund this dance which costs around $300 to use this beautiful park (see link below).  Donations are appreciated but not required.  This dance is free and open to the public.

Swingin’ at Piers Park. With one of the best views of downtown, this East Boston park is a hidden jewel. We’ve danced here before and it’s really awesome. Since we’re right on the water, and it is the ocean, it can be a little windy and get a little chilly, so bring a jacket, dress in layers…

The Kira Daglio Fine Big Band (formerly the Young Lions Jazz Orchestra) is a 16-piece jazz ensemble composed of some of the best young emerging artists in the area. Currently pursuing a Masters degree at the New England Conservatory, Kira established the group as a means to develop her unique musical voice. Her award-winning compositions draw heavily from the swing tradition and her Latina heritage, as well as a wide selection of influences— from Ellington to D’Angelo to Jorge Drexler and beyond. Captained by their ambitious leader, The KDF Big Band is certainly a group to watch out for; this diverse collective of up-and-coming musicians offers a fresh and exciting approach to the big band format.

This event is part of a fundraising, in advance of Gordon finishing the recording an album in Brooklyn, New York that he recorded some of the basic tracks last fall. We still need to mix a bunch of them. This is a large project, with many people involved, expenses will be high. If you are interested in the album, please consider pre-ordering or donating now to support this project. If you’ve supported Gordon in the past, he sends his thanks, and is still releasing tracks from the “Single of the Month” club.
